Police recruitment: PSC shortlists 110,469 applicants

The Police Service Commission on Friday said it shortlisted 110,469 candidates out of the 338, 250 candidates welcomed for the simply finished up screening at the states and FCT Police Commands. 


The Chairman of the commission, Mr Mike Okiro, who revealed this at a news meeting in Abuja on Friday said the bent tests for the fruitful applicants would start on August 22 over the 36 states and FCT. 

He said that out of the 110, 469 candidates, 22, 454 were shortlisted for Cadet ASPs, 24, 456 for Cadet Inspectors and 63, 559 for Police Constables. 

Okiro said that bent test for cadet ASPs for both general obligation and experts will start on August 22 while that of Cadet Inspectors for both general obligation and pros will hang on August 23. 

He said that the test for police constables for both units would happen on August 24. 

As per him, archive and physical screening of pros is planned for August 29 after they will have taken the fitness tests. 

Okiro said that the commission stuck entirely to the necessities required from the candidates for the activity. 

He said that a portion of the candidates were screened out for over age, change and adulteration of reports and year of graduation. 

The others included physical elements, tattoo marks, first school leaving testament, authentication of state root and class of degree or confirmation. 

He said that more than 115 candidates who were captured amid the screening for falsification and mimic were given over to the police for examination and arraignment. 

The administrator restated the commission's craving to support the uprightness of the activity, saying that inquiries for the tests would just be unveiled to the facilitators on the examination date. 

He consoled Nigerians that the activity would be straightforward and all candidates would be given equivalent chances to seek after a profession in the police. 

Okiro cautioned that any competitor found undermining the trustworthiness of the activity would be indicted in accordance with surviving laws. 

He said that messages have been sent to all shortlisted candidates, including that the expert rundown for every state had been sent to all state summons to glue at charge home office and examination focuses. 

The administrator said that the commission was not under weight from any quarter to support any applicant. 

He said that there were no reports of unfortunate behavior against any organizer amid the screening. 

The commission got 911,438 applications including 262, 462 for cadet ASPs, and 211,832 for cadets Inspector and 437,144 for police constables and shortlisted 338,250 for the screening.
